Puzzle Alarm Clock for Android... That Ensures you really wake up...!!!

When it comes to waking up every morning I am an active person but I know how difficult getting up can be some days or at least for some people. I have seen many people who either set up lot many alarms in their cell phones or keep the loudest alarm loud enough to wake up everyone around. Different people try different kind of tricks just to make sure that they wake up on time or before it’s too late. What if we provide you with some app on your phone that makes sure you are really awake?

Here is this app called as Puzzle Alarm Clock and as you can make out from the name it is an app that will act as a barrier between you and your alarm. The app ensures that you solve the puzzle(s) before you can actually turn off the alarm. This way, you are most likely to wake up every morning.

How to set the alarm:

Setting the alarm is same as it is by default on your cell phone however what’s new in this app is that you can select the Turn Off mode from the many modes like Puzzles, NFC tag and QR code, shaking the phone or notifications.

Here are details of these features:

Puzzles: you have the option to set one or up to 5 puzzles which you need to solve in order to disable the alarm. Puzzles can be general mathematical equations like ( 8 – 5 ) * 4 = ? or it can be some mind based pattern puzzle depending upon the level.

NFC tag or QR code: You need to scan some QR code using your phone or using the NFC tags to stop the alarm.

Shake: The shake wake up method will disable the alarm if you provide good shake for certain number of times say around 15 times.

Notifications: This is also a good feature by the developer that ensures that you are actually awake. The app will show a notification after around 5 mins and if you fail to click it then the alarm will go off again.

These features are really nice and new to me and for everyone who don’t want to miss on waking everyday on time. The app also keeps a track of your sleep pattern in a profile which you can see in the app itself. The app can also post your results on the Facebook letting your friends know if you fail to wake up or not the same day (this might prove inspiring to you).

Smartphone Security : Get Smart to your Mobile...!!!

You probably store a lot of personal and financial information on your smartphone that you would not want revealed if it is lost or stolen. Here are some ways that you can help increase mobile phone safety and secure our smartphone.

01) Protect your phone with a password or Personal Identification Number (PIN).

02) Be careful when you install apps on your phone.

03) Install updates for your phone.

04) Make sure your phone has a feature that helps you find it if you lose it or if it is stolen.

05) Don't jailbreak or root your phone.

06) don't use the free Wi-Fi at a coffee shop or other access point if you are doing something sensitive on your phone, like checking a bank account or making a payment.

07) Have updated security software on the phone.

08) Be aware of applications that enable Geo-location. These application will track the user's location anywhere.

09) Use the same precautions on your mobile phone as you would on your computer when using the Internet.

10) If you decide to sell your device or trade it in, make sure you wipe the device (reset it to factory default) to avoid leaving personal data on the device.

11) Turn off tethering, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not in use.

12) Install remote data deletion programs in case you lose your smartphone or it gets stolen.

Hack your monitor and 3D glasses, ensure ultimate privacy

You've always wanted a bit more privacy with your monitor (porn jokes notwithstanding) and if you're willing to tear apart a spare LCD monitor and a pair of 3D theater glasses (thanks, Dreamworks and Pixar!), you'll get it. In lieu of a thicker tinfoil hat, Instructables' dimovi suggests removing the LCD's frame, cutting out its polarized film with a utility knife before removing the screen's film adhesive with a combination of cleaner and paint thinner and reassembling the monitor.

Once complete, grab the glasses, cut out the lenses and combine them with the plastic film removed from the monitor before inserting them back into their frames. The result is an LCD monitor that displays a white screen to anyone not wearing the customized glasses, your actions being confidential, no matter what they might happen to be. Hack an Old LCD Monitor into a Polarized Privacy Monitor

If you have an old LCD display you can remove the polarized and anti-glare films from the inside of the monitor's glass surface and reassemble it; this will make the screen look bright white to the naked eye.

To see the actual display you just need to use a bit of paint thinner to remove the anti-glare film from the polarization film and cut that to match the frames of an old pair of glasses. This produces a monitor that can only be seen when you're wearing the polarization filter glasses.

Instructables user dimovi provides step-by-step instructions and photos that describe how to remove the polarization filter from the display and cut that filter to make lenses for disposable 3D glasses or old sunglasses. First Android Phone? Congrats...!!! Just Follow 10 Steps

Many folks are switching from their old smartphones or even their Blackberries and iPhones, to the most popular phone OS in town, that is Android. If you've just purchased your first Android phone, read on as we have some handy tips for you. If you still haven't moved on to the droid yet and are a bit wary about making the switch, don't worry, just go through our earlier article in which we've outlined some great tips that'll help you choose the best Android out there.

So, without much ado, here are 10 things to do after buying your first Android phone:

1. Link your Google account

Android is an OS that works best if you link it up to your Google account. If you don't have a Gmail account, go sign up for it at gmail.com. Once you've created your first Gmail account you can link it to your Android phone to enable amazing features like synchronization, social check-ins and much more. Once linked, just set up Gmail to check your mail in the background. Be careful though, if you set Gmail to check all the labels in your account, it will have a heavy impact on your droid's battery life. The best option here is to switch to priority inbox in Gmail and set that as the default inbox on your phone. This will have minimal drain on your battery life and you won't miss out on any important mails.

2. Check for Updates

When compared to other mobile operating systems, Android has a much faster release cycle. Hence, the moment you turn on your fresh new droid, chances are that there will be an important update waiting for you. This is the best time to update since you don't have much data on your device, and if something goes wrong, you won't have much to lose. Having said that, it is always a good idea to do a little research about the update first. In rare cases, some people face a lot of problems after updating their phones. To update your phone, go to settings -> About Phone -> Check for System Updates.

3. Configure Wi-fi, 3G

If you have completed both the aforementioned steps, then you must already have configured your Wifi or 3G settings. Assuming you have, it is always better to turn off Wifi when not needed as it drains your battery way quicker than you expect. Also, keep an eye on your 3G connection as service providers charge a lot for data these days. To monitor your 3G connection, use the app 3G Watchdog. This free application will let you keep an eye on your 3G data transfers and will let you know if you've exceeded your monthly quota.

4. Sync Contacts

Instead of storing all contacts on your SIM card, move them over to the phone memory. Add some additional info about them and enable syncing. This will backup all your contacts to your Gmail account.

5. Install some apps

The Android marketplace comes with thousands of great apps to choose from. Many of the apps are free, while some are priced around 0.99 to 2.99 USD. Depending on the quality of application, the prices may vary. For a start, I'd suggest you install some free apps first. 6. Drop some widgets on your home screen

Spruce up your empty home screen by dropping some nice widgets onto it. To start adding widgets, long press anywhere on your home screen and select the Widgets option from the menu.

7. Install some games

8. Install an antivirus software

9. Backup your droid

Laptop Security... Never Avoid it...

A minor distraction is all it takes for a laptop to vanish. If it goes missing, all the valuable information stored on it may fall into the hands of an identity thief. Keep these tips in mind when you’re out and about with your laptop.

The Dos

Treat your laptop like cash.

If you had a wad of money sitting out in a public place, would you turn your back on it — even for just a minute? Would you put it in checked luggage? Leave it on the backseat of your car? Of course not. Keep the same watchful eye on your laptop as you would on your cash.

Lock your laptop with a security cable.

In the office, a hotel, or some other public place, use a laptop security cable. Attach it to something immovable or to a heavy piece of furniture — say, a table or a desk.

Be on guard in airports and hotels.

Keep your eye on your laptop as you go through airport security. Hold onto it until the person in front of you has gone through the metal detector — and keep an eye out when it emerges on the other side. The confusion and shuffle of security checkpoints can be fertile ground for theft.

If you stay in hotels, a security cable may not be enough. Store your laptop in the safe in your room. If you leave your laptop attached to a security cable in your hotel room, consider hanging the "do not disturb" sign on your door.

Consider an alarm.

Depending on your security needs, an alarm on your laptop can be a useful tool. Some laptop alarms sound when there's unexpected motion, or when the computer moves outside a specified range. A program that reports the location of your stolen laptop once it's connected to the internet also can be useful.

Consider carrying your laptop in something else less obvious than a laptop case.

When you take your laptop on the road, carrying it in a computer case may advertise what's inside. Consider using a suitcase, a padded briefcase, or a backpack instead.

The Don’ts

Don't leave it — even for just a minute.

Your conference colleagues seem trustworthy, so you're comfortable leaving your laptop while you network during a break. The people at the coffee shop seem nice, so you ask them to keep an eye on it while you use the restroom. Not a good idea. Don't leave your laptop unguarded — even for a minute. Take it with you if you can, or at least use a cable to secure it to something heavy.

Don't leave your laptop in a car.

Parked cars are a favorite target of laptop thieves. If you have no choice and you must leave it in your car, keep it locked up and out of sight.

Don’t put your laptop on the floor.

No matter where you are in public — at a conference, a coffee shop, or a registration desk — don’t put your laptop on the floor. If you must put it down, place it between your feet or up against your leg so you remember that it’s there.

Don’t keep passwords with your laptop or in its case.

Remembering strong passwords or access numbers can be a challenge. However, leaving them in your laptop carrying case or on your laptop is like leaving your keys in your car. Don’t make it easy for a thief to get to your personal or corporate information.

Where to Report a Stolen Laptop

If your laptop is stolen, report it immediately to the local authorities.

If it's your personal laptop and your information might be misused by an identity thief, visit ftc.gov/idtheft.
If it's a business laptop, immediately notify your employer, as well. You may want to review the FTC's information about data breaches.

Unlock IDEA NET SETTER

Now a days most of us are using data cards of various companies and one of them is IDEA NETSETTER.

Today I’m going to tell, how you can use any other SIM in IDEA NET SETTER and then you can access upto 2mbps via that USB Net setter

Netsetter is using a Huawei modem
Step 1 : Download UNIVERSAL MASTER CODE (software)

Step 2 : Now take your USB modem and see its back , you will see a 15 digit number and that’s your modem’s IMEI number .
Open notepad and type that IMEI no.

Step 3 : Now double click on the downloaded file of Universal Master Code and extract it then click on Universal Master Code.exe

Step 4 : In the IMEI number field of Universal Master Codetype , enter the IMEI number which you have already typed in notepad and press calculate.

It will generate a flash and unlock code.

Step 5 : Now connect your USB IDEA net setter and install net setter software from there and run it and also put a non IDEA SIM.

It will ask you for unlock code , also it will show u have 10 attempts ,simply put the unlock code generated from universal master code
And press enter while u have unlocked your IDEA net setter

Now for creating new profile go to Tools > Options > Profile Management and click new

Type APN supported by your sim (eg – for BSNL use bsnlnet as apn ) , leave everything as it is and you can connect easily after that. Enjoy !!

How to Lock your PC with USB Flash Drive?

PREDATOR Software locks your PC when you are away, even if your Windows session is still opened.
It uses a regular USB flash drive as an access control device, and works as follows:

protect your computer with a flash drive

you insert the USB drive
you run PREDATOR (autostart with Windows is possible)
you do your work...
when you're away from your PC, you simply remove the USB drive:
once it is removed, the keyboard and mouse are disabled and the screen darkens
when you return back to your PC, you put the USB flash drive in place:
keyboard and mouse are immediately released, and the display is restored.

It's easier and faster than closing your Windows session, since you do not have to retype your password when you return.
